IKAT at CUT’s open door day

On January 15, Chemnitz University of Technology welcomed prospective students and the public to its Open Day. The Institute of Advanced Materials and Lightweight Design (IKAT) was once again represented, offering engaging insights into research and teaching through its well-established 3D puzzle as well as an information booth for the degree program Human–Environment–Technology (MUT).

The 3D puzzle challenged participants to interpret a three-view projection and reconstruct the corresponding three-dimensional structure. Prospective engineering students demonstrated a strong level of spatial reasoning and technical understanding—key competencies for successful studies in mechanical engineering.

At the MUT information booth, visitors received detailed information about the newly established degree program Human–Environment–Technology, which focuses on the development of sustainable products and systems. The program provides in-depth knowledge of ecological, economic, and social aspects of sustainability, their evaluation, and the practical implementation of sustainable lifestyles and technological solutions.

We would like to thank all visitors for their strong interest in the MUT degree program and the interactive activities offered by IKAT.
