Publication in the Journal of Sound and Vibration

The compliant-mechanisms groups works on semi-active methods for vibration reduction. In these techniques, mass, damping or stiffness parameters of vibrating structures are influenced to reduce vibrations. Recent results of this research have been published in the prestigious Journal of Sound and Vibration. The publication presents a clear distinction between different energetic effects as a result of cyclic stiffness changes, which is not present in the previous literature. In addition, a first study on the controllability and dependence of the internal energy flows on the process parameters is presented.

The article will be published in the next volume of Journal of Sound and Vibration or can be found online at https://doi.org/10.1016/j.jsv.2021.116040 (the final manuscript can also be accessed at https://arxiv.org/pdf/2012.11407).
