The Product Development Group is working on the project „sensor-integrating feather keys for the detection of torques“ as part of the priority program „sensor-integrating machine elements“. Here, the structure of a classical feather key is modified with the help of an optimization methodology developed at the professorship in such a way that the torque transmitted with it can be measured with a small number of strain gauges. In cooperation with the professorship of Adaptronics and Functional Lightweight Design, the sensor technology and data transmission are also ensured. An annual colloquium is organized for the exchange with the researchers of the other nine projects of the priority program. This year’s colloquium took place on October 25 and 26 in Darmstadt. Ms. Seltmann gave a presentation on the current status of work on the sensor-integrated feather key to an interested audience.
