At the international conference „24th International Colloquium Tribology“ on the topics of friction, wear, lubricants and tribomechanics, the institute showed up with IKAT-specific research topics. Mr Silvano Oehme presented the latest results of the research project „Simulation of the local CoF development in cyclically loaded clamped contact surfaces (fretting)“. With a combined approach of model experiment and contact simulation, inhomogeneous CoF distributions in component contacts can be calculated. Thus a first validated method for realistic determination of the CoF in contacts subjected to fretting loading could be developed.
