At this year’s SiME Congress, the IKAT presented an innovative machine element: the sensor-integrated key. This novel key is capable of directly measuring the torques acting on it and wirelessly transmitting the data to computers or smartphones. It offers great potential for future applications, particularly as an early warning system for detecting overloads. This development could lead to more efficient and safer operation of machinery.
