On 11 and 12 March 2025, two IKAT employees took part in the renowned CWD conference in Aachen – an important specialist event for application-related research in the field of wind power. The conference provided a platform for the exchange of information on highly topical issues in bearing and drive technology, tribology and sustainability.
Ms Nettlenbusch and Mr Schanner took the opportunity to present current IKAT research results to a specialist audience from industry and science. Their presentations addressed key challenges facing the industry: the combination of sustainable product design with quality management [(DOI: 10.1007/s10010-025-00820-3)] and the behaviour of hard particle systems in frictionally engaged joints [(DOI: 10.1007/s10010-025-00802-5)].
The lively discussions during the conference days emphasised the importance of these research topics for the wind industry. The great interest and intensive exchange of ideas emphasised the relevance and innovative nature of IKAT’s research work for sustainable and efficient wind power technology.
