On 3 July 2026, the Chair of Machine Elements and Product Development (MP) took part in the event „Start Your Summer Holidays with Chemnitz University of Technology“ at Neumarkt Square in Chemnitz. Numerous families, school students, and other visitors took the opportunity to explore the university’s wide range of interactive activities. The event was a great success and provided a wonderful start to the summer holidays.
Once again, a particular highlight was the Chair’s interactive Shadow Play, which attracted considerable interest from both children and adults. Michael Kretschmer, Minister-President of the Federal State of Saxony, also took the opportunity to try out the installation himself. The accompanying photograph captures this special moment, showing him testing the Shadow Play. We would like to thank him once again for taking part.
The Chair is delighted by the strong interest shown by visitors and the many engaging conversations throughout the event. Events like this provide an excellent opportunity to make research and development tangible while inspiring young people to pursue engineering and technology.
