Looking Back on a Successful Semester – Wishing All Students a Smooth and Successful Exam Period!

Once again, time has followed its own optimization algorithm—and just like that, the semester has come to an end!

Over the past few months, we have designed, analyzed, and learned together: from strengthening the fundamentals of engineering graphics to exploring the fascinating world of machine elements. We sincerely hope that the knowledge you have gained will stay with you well beyond this semester.

Now the exam period is approaching, and we know it can be a demanding time. But don’t worry—if your exam preparation follows the principles of good tribology—minimizing friction losses and preventing mental overheating through careful planning and sufficient coffee lubrication—no exam question will throw you off course too easily.

For your upcoming exams, we wish you:

  • dimensional accuracy in your answers,
  • a perfect fit for every solution,
  • optimal load-bearing capacity for your nerves, and
  • enough bearing clearance to keep a cool head even under high operating temperatures!

Our recommendations:

  • Don’t leave any unknowns in the equation: If you have questions about the lecture material, make use of our consultation hours or contact the module coordinators.
  • Design your next steps: Once your exams are over, if you’re interested in turning theory into practice, take a look at our current topics for Bachelor’s and Master’s theses or our student assistant (HiWi) positions in product development, optimization, and related fields.

Use your energy efficiently, keep wear to a minimum, and reward yourself with a well-deserved break once the work is done.

We wish you every success in your exams, we’ll be keeping our fingers crossed for you, and we look forward to seeing you again next semester!

Best regards,

The Chair of Machine Elements and Product Development Team
