Summer, Chemnitz, Machine Elements

KOSMOS Chemnitz invited everyone to a major celebration of civil society – and IKAT joined the event with its interactive “Green Washing” stand.

At our stand, visitors were encouraged to explore, experiment and take things apart. Household appliances could be systematically disassembled, offering a hands-on opportunity to discover their individual machine elements. What is actually inside a washing machine? How does a sewing machine work? And, above all: How sustainable are these products?

This also raised an important question: What happens to the individual components at the end of a product’s useful life? Can they be reused, recycled or otherwise returned to the circular economy?

These are exactly the kinds of questions explored in the MUT degree programme. At KOSMOS, however, the focus was first and foremost on experiencing technology first-hand, discovering new things and, of course, celebrating together.

The short video provides a glimpse of our stand and the activities on offer.

We are already looking forward to KOSMOS 2027 – and we’ll be there again!
