T-PAPER installation for MuMa-Forum in Bielefeld

pmTUC provided two T-PAPER based posters for the new special exhibition „Als die Bilder sprechen lernten – 100 Jahre Tonfilm“ at MuMa-Forum in Bielefeld, Germany.

The exhibition showcases the most important steps and pioneers having brought sound to movies. Additionally, new technology achievements are presented and future outlook is given including our paper-based flexible printed poster loudspeakers.

We are happy for the opportunity to demonstrate the applicability of printed sound within real museum szenarios!

T-BOOK at Museums+Heritage Show in London

Last week a new version of the T-BOOK was showcased at Museums+Heritage Show in London, UK.

In cooperation with the company Molitor GmbH located in Berlin, Germany, the „Soundbook“ was demonstrated to many visitors of the company’s booth. Especially in museums the new book could be used as a novel infotainment tool combining graphic arts with acoustical information, story telling and sound effects.

The book consists of six sounding pages including page detection sensors based on the unique T-PAPER technology developed by pmTUC.

T-PAPER on Galileo TV-Show

The Galileo team visited  the Institute for Print- and Media Technology and filmed a great report about T-PAPER loudspeakers.

Dr. Georg Schmidt in podcast of TU Chemnitz

In the TUCscicast Dr. Georg Schmidt responds the questions about the latest developments of T-PAPER technology, advantages of the printed electronics today as well as the ideas for the future applications on the basis of printed paper lodspeakers.  You will find the TUCscicast in every podcast app!

New T-PAPER video by TU Chemnitz

Finally we can present our T-RING prototype!

In the new T-PAPER video you can see one of the final applications which could be realized with paper-based piezoelectric loudspeakers. A 360° surround-sound installation can be used in exhibition booth as well as for acoustic accompaniment of museum exhibits.

Our scientific paper in Advanced Materials

T-PAPER team published their new scientific paper on „Paper-Embedded Roll-to-Roll Mass Printed Piezoelectric Transducers“ in Advanced Materials.  Georg C. Schmidt and co-authors could realize an innovative concept for large-area piezoelectric devices on paper made by means of cost efficient roll-to-roll mass printing. Also post printing technologies including inline poling were realized at the Institute for Print and Media Technology.

TU Chemnitz presented in the press release a 360° surround-sound installation made with a 387 cm long paper web consisting of 56 piezoelectric speakers. The paper loudspeaker web including printed wiring weighs only about 150 gramm.

Video clip on T-PAPER project is available on the Youtube channel of TU Chemnitz.

DAGA cancelled

Unfortunately DAGA 2020 was cancelled in according to the latest recommendation of the Ministry of Health in connection with the corona virus.

Nevertheless, we want to present our latest prototype as soon as possible. We will keep you updated!

T-PAPER at DAGA 2020

On March 16 – 19, the T-PAPER team will participate on DAGA – Jahrestagung für Akustik and present their latest ideas and developments.

Dr. Georg Schmidt will give a presentation about T-PAPER technology on March 19. The main aim is to present roll-to-roll method for mass-printing of piezoelectric loudspeakers.

Moreover in our booth we will present prototypes made with our unique printed loudspeaker paper which can be used for different applications like sound books, smart packages, etc.

The annual convention DAGA takes place in Hannover this year. Visit our booth #60 (1st floor) at Hannover Congress Centrum HCC and explore our sound applications with piezoelectric polymer technology!

T-PAPER at C-Town 360˚ Convention

C-Town 360° is a meeting platform for industry and researchers to exchange their ideas and to present technologies, insights and megatrends. The focus of this convention were Smart Systems, Artificial Intelligence and microelectronic technology. We could meet such Start-Ups as LiGenium, Trowis and some others and hear about their solutions for more sustainable manufacturing.

We took part in Deep Dives „Artificial Intelligence“ and „Mechanical Engineering & Digitalization“. Many thanks to CWE Chemnitz and Wirkbau Chemnitz for such inspiring event!
