After two days of intensive discussion, we are returning to Chemnitz. An outstanding conference featuring high-level technical exchange has left a lasting impression. We were able to enrich the in-depth exploration of the world of fibre and steel wire ropes with two presentations of our own based on current research. Christoph Müller, who also was elected a full OIPEEC management board member, presented on the topic of modelling residual breaking forces. Prof. Markus Golder outlined the latest developments in crane rope standardisation. Thanks to his excellent paper and presentation, he won the Best Paper Award! We are delighted with this success and wish all participants a safe journey home and continued exciting research in the world of ropes. Thank you OIPEEC and see you next time in Stuttgart!
