Introduction of multi-factor authentication at the Chemnitz University of Technology

Multi-factor authentication is a procedure that asks for an additional factor in addition to the user name and password when logging in in order to better protect IT services and data from unauthorised access of third parties. The procedure has been available as an option at Chemnitz University of Technology for some time now. From 3 June 2024, the use of MFA will be mandatory. On 15 May 2024, we cordially invite you to a user forum in which the procedure will be presented once again and questions can be asked.

Maintenance work on the Raabestraße data network on 19.09.2022

On 19.09.2022, maintenance work will take place on the central building node in the Raabestraße part of the university between 6 and 7 pm. A software update on the backbone routers is planned. According to the manufacturer, the update will be uninterrupted due to router redundancy.

New campus network backbone

In November of this year, the project to renew the campus network backbone was completed. The university locations are now equipped with the latest network technology, which implements redundant and high-performance connections with 100 GB/s between the locations and with 50 GB/s to the German Research Network (DFN).
